Profitable Sales
Remember:
- Most guests aren’t browsers, they are there to buy – so start selling.
- LOTS of guests are unsure of what to order when they come to the bar – so start recommending.
- Make suggestions based on time of day, week or year – and don’t forget how weather affects what guests drink.
- Read your guest: different people will buy different things.
- Be positive and upbeat when selling and describe what you are selling to make it attractive – “How about a cool, refreshing ‘Coca-Cola’ or a warming, spicy Shiraz?”.
- Many people will pay slightly more for a bottle rather than Postmix so offer it every time.
Always serve a 16oz 'Coca-Cola' in a Georgia Green Glass. If you leave these glasses in the cellar, you leave your profits behind!
