Make It Special

Postmix Journey

When it comes to Postmix drinks, it's all about how it tastes and how it’s served and this depends on how well you look after your equipment.

Remember 4 key points:

  1. Carbonation: Flat product affects the enjoyment of the drink.
  2. Ratio: Too much or too little syrup means you are serving an inferior product – not ‘Coca-Cola’.
  3. Temperature: If you don't care for your equipment, it will not function correctly.
  4. Hygiene: Dirty equipment is a health hazard, can cost your venue £££ and makes your shift harder.

Check your equipment

Checking your postmix

Don't forget to make these checks before each shift:

  1. Clean your dispense valves.
  2. Check the temperature of your drinks.
  3. Check your CO2 supply.
  4. Keep condenser grille clean and clear from obstruction.
  5. Store and rotate BiB correctly.

Other useful tips

  • Always draw at least 1 pint of carbonated water through before serving your first ‘Coca-Cola'.
  • NEVER soak dispense valves in soda/carbonated water or with beer nozzles. Instead, use a brush and warm water to clean each day.
  • Check the temperature of your drink is 5ºC or below.
  • Store CO2 canisters cool, upright & secure.
  • Keep the condenser grille clean and clear from obstruction and dirt. Be careful, edges of the grille can be sharp.
  • Rotate your BiBs use the shortest life product first and keep those connectors clean.
