Postmix Journey
When it comes to Postmix drinks, it's all about how it tastes and how it’s served and this depends on how well you look after your equipment.
Remember 4 key points:
- Carbonation: Flat product affects the enjoyment of the drink.
- Ratio: Too much or too little syrup means you are serving an inferior product – not ‘Coca-Cola’.
- Temperature: If you don't care for your equipment, it will not function correctly.
- Hygiene: Dirty equipment is a health hazard, can cost your venue £££ and makes your shift harder.
Check your equipment
Don't forget to make these checks before each shift:
- Clean your dispense valves.
- Check the temperature of your drinks.
- Check your CO2 supply.
- Keep condenser grille clean and clear from obstruction.
- Store and rotate BiB correctly.
Other useful tips
- Always draw at least 1 pint of carbonated water through before serving your first ‘Coca-Cola'.
- NEVER soak dispense valves in soda/carbonated water or with beer nozzles. Instead, use a brush and warm water to clean each day.
- Check the temperature of your drink is 5ºC or below.
- Store CO2 canisters cool, upright & secure.
- Keep the condenser grille clean and clear from obstruction and dirt. Be careful, edges of the grille can be sharp.
- Rotate your BiBs use the shortest life product first and keep those connectors clean.
