Introducing our new 7 litre box

Seven litre Box Image

Our changing licensed and restaurant environment means soft drinks are playing an even greater role as mixers or drinks for families, when choosing food or when driving. So today, it’s even more important to ensure that customers are getting the best value and quality from your soft drink offering.

Ever since 1886 the `Coca-Cola´ brand has insisted on the best. That’s why when you serve `Coca-Cola´ to your customers we want it to have the same quality and fresh taste as the day it was created. That way customers will come back for more.

We have taken 4 actions to immediately improve the freshness of postmix serves:

  • We’re making changes to our `postmix´ bag in a box.
  • We are discontinuing the 10 litre box size and introducing a new 7 litre format, meaning it will be easier for you to sell younger, fresher syrup to your customers
  • The new shelf life will be 75 days from production
  • Supply chain improvement
  • A day specific best before date (eg – 06 Nov 2008 rather than Nov 2008)

To keep it simple, there will be no changes with the new 7 litre boxes as far as connections and dilution ratios are concerned. This will apply to `Coke´, `diet Coke´ and `Schweppes´ Lemonade.

This means that you can attach the new 7 litre product to Coca-Cola Enterprises Ltd equipment without a visit from our engineers. This also means you can run through your current syrup for as long as it is in date before switching to new 7 litre stock.

What to tell your staff

Bartenders and other staff are there to ensure great looking drinks are served to happy customers but also to be guardians of taste.

With this change they need to manage the stock in the cellar and report to management if stocks are too low or high, they also need to understand that roughly 3 boxes will sell in the time 2 old boxes did.

Your Quality Checklist

  • Keep the drink cold by ensuring the machine has room to breathe in the cellar.
  • Check the dates on the syrup boxes, rotate stock and avoid overstocking.
  • Clean the dispenser heads with warm water and a small brush – do not soak in fizzy water.
  • Check that glass cleaning fl uid is not too abrasive in your dishwasher.
  • Dispense one glass through the system before every session.

Summary

It is important to realise that when Coca-Cola Enterprises Ltd enters into an agreement with a venue in the UK to stock its brands there is a responsibility from both sides to sell those brands in their optimum condition. The quality of a serving comes from a combination of syrup freshness, good cleaning standards behind the bar and machine maintenance in the cellar.

Our excellent engineering support can advise on good maintenance over the phone. Just ring 08705 33 66 99 and ask for the `Telefix´ department. Alternatively send us a query online (see `contact us´) or check out our equipment section and we will arrange for someone to call you to discuss the change or visit your venue for a further explanation of the 7 litre introduction
